ITC For Adults
International Transfer Certificate for adults
An International Transfer Certificate (ITC) is required for players aged 18 or older if their previous football registration was overseas. During the PlayFootball self-registration process, players will be prompted to answer a series of questions truthfully to determine if an ITC is necessary. These questions include:
(a) Did the player's last registration to play football occur in another country?
(b) Which country, other than Australia, was the player last registered in?
(c) Which club was the player last registered with in that country?
(d) In what year was the player last registered in that country?
If the player answers "yes" to question (a), their registration status will be changed to "Pending ITC". It is important to inform our club (or the relevant club associated to the paperwork) that an ITC has been triggered for the player's registration, so they are aware and can handle any necessary paperwork.
Next, the player's request is sent to the Football Federation Australia (FFA) to initiate the ITC process. FFA will update PlayFootball with the date the ITC was requested from the player's former national association.
The waiting period for the ITC request depends on the response from the National Association. FFA cannot register a player until either the ITC is received or if no response is received within 30 days from the date FFA sends the ITC request. It is recommended that clubs allow for a 35-day timeframe from the date the ITC is requested, although this may vary during peak periods. Please see below the link for the ITC form and guidelines on which one to use:
