Enfield Rovers is proud to announce our newest initiative - a FREE development program specifically designed for 5-7 year old females interested in playing Football. Our goal is to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where young girls can hone their skills and build confidence in an safe and welcoming environment without feeling overshadowed or intimidated by boys.

Other advantages include:

Empowerment: Playing in an all-female environment can help young girls feel empowered and confident in their abilities, leading to increased self-esteem and a love for the game.

Skill development: Girls may feel more comfortable and encouraged to try new skills and techniques in an all-female environment, leading to improved overall performance on the field.

Camaraderie: By playing with other girls who share their passion for football, young players can develop strong friendships and a sense of community that can last a lifetime.

Focus on fun: In a non-competitive environment, the focus is on enjoying the game and having fun, rather than winning or losing. This can help girls feel less pressure and more freedom to explore and express themselves on the field.

Regrettably, we have reached the maximum number of available spots for this program. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please contact us at secretary@enfieldfc.com.au We will provide information on anticipated waiting times and offer assistance where possible.

When are the games and programs?

Our girls only Under 6 and Under 7 groups are always on Saturday Mornings from the first week of April until the final week of August, starting at 9:00am

Where is this hosted?

We host all games and development programs on the front fields of Henley Park in front of the canteen.

Can my child play with their friends?

Absolutely! At this age there is no grading therefore we encourage girls to play with their friends and to bring down as many friends as they can!

Role of the coach

The 4 vs 4 mini game structure helps reduce the dependence of coaches intervening, which keeps the game flowing. Coaches in this age group are considered more like game day mentors who help facilitate the game and provide encouragement for the children. This helps create a positive environment which children can learn through the opportunity of spending more time on the ball to dribble, pass and shoot, building their cognitive thinking and maximising their learning.

Do the girls need to attend training during the week?

No, we offer a complete package for just Saturday Mornings, freeing up the rest of your week. However, if your daughter is really into developing her skills further, then their age group can utilise the skill based Rovers Academy training. This is held on Thursday nights from 5pm-6pm and is an additional cost. For more information please click here

What are the rules?

Our club follows the Miniroos National Playing Format which are the official guidelines set by Football Australia and Football NSW. Additional to the rules found at the top of the page, the full rules can be found by clicking here

Uniform requirements

Uniforms for Football are simplistic, and for this program even simpler. The following is what’s required:

  • Shin pads and soccer boots (not sold by the club)

  • Water bottle (supplied by parent/guardian)

Regarding training apparel and other Enfield Rovers gear which you can purchase, each sale generates 15% which goes towards helping our club financially. Please check out the training apparel range here

Are there referees at this age?

No. At this age the guidance on the field is conducted by the coach or a volunteer parent. There are no whistles and we encourage coaches to stop play to help teach the players the right way to play football. Remember, this age group is a critical time for children to develop confidence and competence in all areas of life, including football!

  • Number of players: 4 vs 4

  • Match length: 2 x 20 minute halves with a 5min break

This age group sees most children start their football journey for the first time. This is the age where we encourage parents to help their children fall in love with the game.

The focus on this age group is for the players to have fun.  If the players are having fun, despite the score line, this will translate into building a passion for football which will see your child play for many more years to come.
